Moving Has Been Really Good for Me

I knew that life would be different after moving to California, and I have really loved every bit of it. It’s so different from where I grew up and have lived all my life in the Eastern portion of the United States. I go to a chiropractor in Carmichael CA that I have ended up marrying. He lives a good life, and he has taught me how to take better care of myself. After living in a state where it is cold for a long time each season, I now live in a state where people get outside in the sun to get exercise and feel better. It is so nice and I have felt right at home with all of it.

What are the things that struck me when I move to California was seeing how many people are out on the road every day. There are people walking and riding their bikes everywhere. Where I lived before, it’s pretty real, and it takes a long time to walk anywhere. So many people don’t do it. Most people spend their time in their car going to wherever they need to go. And because the winter season is so long because of the snow and the bitter cold temperatures, a lot of people don’t get out for at least half of the year. That was normal to me while I live there.

Once I moved to my new state, I decided that I wanted to get out of it more too. I found it really help the way that I feel everyday. I began to feel happier. I know part of this was getting more vitamin D because I was out in the sunlight everyday. But it also felt good to get out and stretch my legs after work, walk through the neighborhood and get to know my neighbors, and even lose a little bit of weight. Not long after I moved here, I started going to a chiropractor, and that is when I met my new husband.

No Need to Be Stubborn

It took the effort of my entire family to get my grandfather to go to a chiropractor in Cary NC. He had been dealing with back pain for quite some time, but never do anything about it besides getting some pain powder from the drug store and dissolving it in a cup of water. It’s not like he couldn’t afford to go, as he was getting health care from the government because of his military service. We tried many times to get him to go, but he just wouldn’t do it. He just kept telling us that his back would heal on his own without the help of some kind of quack. Although he wouldn’t admit it, he was really afraid to go any kind of medical professional for help.

The exact reason why he was afraid of medical professionals wasn’t exactly clear, but my grandfather has often told us many times about various trips to the doctor that he’s taken in his life, and how he didn’t like any of them. Continue reading No Need to Be Stubborn

Even Fit People Can Have Back Trouble That Leads to Debilitating Pain

I eat plenty of vegetables, and I eat the right amount of fruit. I get my whole grains, and I take fish oil and vitamins specific to my nutritional needs. I do not use tobacco, and I do not work in an industry where I am exposed to dangerous chemicals. I exercise every day, and I make adjustments to keep my stress levels low. In other words, I take care of my physical body. It is the only one I have. I also make sure to keep a regular visit to my Peoria chiropractor to keep my back in the great shape it is in.

The first time I had back pain I was a little nervous about it. I really take care of myself, so a spinal misalignment was something that was out of the ordinary for me. Desk Job Put a Strain on My Neck

My neck started hurting after I got a desk job. When we switched to laptops I still wanted to use a regular keyboard and a mouse. I cannot stand the touchpad and the keys on the keyboard of a laptop. This puts the screen too far away from me, and I lean my neck forward to see it. So much for following good ergonomic recommendations. I ended up pinching a nerve in my neck that lead to sensations of bugs crawling in my right ear and a similar sensation across my face to my nose. A San Francisco chiropractor was on my list of necessary calls to make on my way home from work on Monday. The reason I called is that I fixed how I sit at my computer a couple of weeks before, but I still had the odd sensations.

The IT department hooked me up with a flat screen monitor I could attach to my laptop when at my desk. The keyboard was right in front of it, so that fixed my problem of poor body position while using a computer. However, I did not feel any better in my neck even two weeks later. Is Fasting Healthy? The Pros and Cons

Fasting has been around for centuries. For example Moses fasted for 40 days when he received the commandments in the Holy Bible. There is fasting in the Muslim religion with Ramadan and Gandhi has fasted in protest Spesific Data Marketing.

Now there is a thing called the 5:2 diet. Eat a normal diet for 5 days and 2 days eat 25% of what you would normally eat.

Is it healthy going without food? First let’s talk about the negatives. The first thing that comes to my mind is OK eating healthy is hard enough as it is and most people can’t even do that. Going without food or 25% of what you normally eat is even more difficult. It’s almost like those crazy new years resolutions that nobody follows through with Insurance Health.

The next negative is that it’s unpleasant. You know you are going to feel a little miserable for the days you don’t eat.

The good news is there are many health benefits to going without food for a few days. Researchers say fasting “flips a regenerative switch” which creates brand new white blood cells, essentially regenerating the entire immune system. This can be done in 3 days.

According to USC News two studies showed a short-term fast starves cancer cells and helps chemo therapies better target the cancer.

Researchers at the Inter-mountain Medical Center Heart Institute found that men, who had fasted for 24 hours, had a 2000% increase in human growth hormone, which regrows cells Medicalcare. They also had significantly reduced their triglycerides, boosted their HDL cholesterol and stabilized their blood sugar.

Next children who suffer from epileptic seizures have fewer of them when placed on caloric restriction or fasts. You might think that when you go without food you can’t think as clearly.

One study in the National Library of Medicine looked at females that were deprived of food for 24 hours and tested how sharp their mind was Infection Medicalcare.

None of the tasks – including sustained attention, attentional focus, simple reaction time or immediate memory were found to be impaired.

However, performance on a low processing load tapping task was significantly poorer when the subjects were deprived of food for 24 hours prior to testing. I’m not sure what that means.
